Portland Ducks
Portland Ducks'
vehicle has been sold and has
flown South for the foreseeable
future. Up until recently, Portland Ducks
was
owned and operated by local
residents, Charles and Sarah
Lewis. Charles hatched the
featherbrained idea of starting
a duck tours business in
Portland while he was studying business
and government at Harvard
University. Boston Duck
Tours has one of the largest and
most successful fleets of
amphibious vehicles in the
United States. Impressed
with the idea, Charles returned
to Portland and began laying the
framework for the Portland
Ducks! Portland Ducks is now
on track to become one of
Portland’s hit attractions!

mission is to provide
profitable and socially
responsible educational tours
that creatively highlight
Portland’s significant
landmarks, people, and history.
Portland Ducks uses state of the
art amphibious vehicles running
on bio-diesel to conduct land
and water tours, chartered
outings, and themed special
events that serve tourists,
schools, businesses and area
residents. Portland Ducks
operates under the triple bottom
line management philosophy that
measures financial, social, and
environmental success. As part
of its commitment to the
community, Portland Ducks donates
at least 5% of its after tax
profits to schools and nonprofit
organizations with cash and
in-kind contributions.

Charles was selected as one of
Portland’s top 40 business
leaders under 40 by the Portland
Business Journal. He was
also awarded the Contemporary
Alumni Award from the University
of Portland and was selected as
a Public Service Innovator by
Harvard University.
